San Diego, Ca - Vena Doreen (Webb) Simon, a 21-year resident of Point Loma, San Diego California, passed away on Wednesday the 16th of November 2016. Born 17 February 1938 in Hamilton Parish, Bermuda to the late Elvin and Jane Webb. Vena attended West Pembroke Primary School and graduated from Howard Academy High School class of 1956. Vena worked at Kindley Field Airforce Base as a military personnel transportation driver for many years. Her next career move took her to the Bermuda Police Department as a Traffic Warden.
After being swept off her feet in 1975 she married the love of her life U.S. Navy Chief Leonard J. Simon Jr. and they relocated to California, from there they traveled and lived in many parts of the world during their military career, eventually making San Diego their home. This union brought together three girls and three boys, collectively known as the "Brady Bunch". Leonard loved and took very good care of Vena, always remaining by her side.
We can remember her always going to someone's house to play cards, and man don't talk about her Bingo!!, She was an avid hockey, softball player and a championship bowler, bowling in many bowling leagues / tournaments winning many awards and trophies. She also spent many hours volunteering for several different organizations. Vena loved listening and dancing to Oldie Goldie music, and traveling the world with her husband living life to the fullest.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Beloved Husband Leonard J. Simon Jr.:
